Climate

Mendoza

Mendoza has ideal conditions for the production of organic wines, since it is a desert which enjoys almost 330 days of sun and with an average annual rainfall of 220ml.

We use drip irrigation to water our plants and in this way we are contributing to the preservation of water and reducing unnecessary waste.

Our climate is characterised by warm summers, but at night the temperature can drop considerably.  This results in a thermal amplitude that reaches around 20°C.

Terroir

The Terrain (El Terruño)

Our vineyard has been carefully chosen and is located at 950 meters above sea level. Our soil is a combination of sand, clay, lime and calcareous layers on the subsurface

All our agricultural practices are focused on respecting the soil and its biodiversity, helping to balance the ecosystem.

Organic Farming

We maintain a healthy and balanced vineyard and avoid the spread of diseases by avoiding any chemical or synthetic products such as herbicides or fungicides.

Our Vineyards and our Wines are internationally certified by Argencert Company, which is a part of Ecocert.

Biodynamic Agriculture

Looking for a long term health of both our farm and the environment we use different applications of Rudolf Steiner, to ensure our plants become strong and able to resist climatic challenges.
Our natural compost, formed by….. is another key aspect to strengthen the fertility of our soil. The wildlife fauna and our farm animals, such as sheep, hen, geese, cows form an important component for controlling the weeds and diseases of our Estate. Finally the astronomical calendar of Thun allows us to choose the optimal moment to carry out crucial tasks such as pruning, harvesting and bottling of our wines respecting the lunar cycle.

From the very beginning we have had a Biodynamic certification for our vineyards.
